贝
Don't confuse with
Both stack something on top of a box-like shape (originally an eye, 目). Look at the bottom two strokes: in 见 (jiàn, to see) they meet at a point, like a pair of legs walking (儿, the same shape as in 人). In 贝 (bèi, shell/money) they stay apart, splayed like 八 — the two curved edges of an ancient cowrie shell.
