Don't confuse with
人 (rén, person) has two strokes that meet at a clear peak, like a walking person's legs, with the left stroke reaching lower than the right. 入 (rù, enter) is nearly a mirror image, but the top crosses slightly past the peak, leaving a small point poking through — as if something is pushing its way in. 八 (bā, eight) keeps its two strokes apart at the top, like an open pair of compasses that never touch.
